To answer your question, the D&D Adventurer's League has specific character generation rules that ensure fairness and equality in character generation. The system allows you to generate your character’s ability scores using only the following methods: • Standard set (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) • Customizing ability scores variant (Player’s Handbook chapter 1) Notice that the "Standard set" is an array of numbers that you can get with the "Customizing ability scores variant", so they are indeed balanced with one another.
