Scourge of the Sword Coast--D&D Encounters S17 S5

I missed Encounters this week--Jack was having some eye pain & headaches from his new glasses.

But DM Curtis was there running--I am sure everyone had a blast.

Scott looks ready.

he is using this fantastic minifig & frog mini--Voldemort!

Pew-pew!

Emo Getting it Done

4-0!

Against 12 year olds...

That my friends is Jace at his finest!

Liam still on fire. Jack wearing his glasses. Lisa making muffins.

Preston is on fire, Matt had a massive bike crash on the way to Tuesday last week--minor concussion, etc. He was in good form today. Alexander was having a blast.

Evan, Cassidy, and Dylan were ready to play.

Table was an amazing battle ground.

Red White getting it done.

Pile of back packs.

Room barely holds all the players.

Alexander got at 12 against me...

Andrew had lost his deck & slept in so he was not in this morning.

"Mother, do you think they will drop the bomb"

This is a 12, which is not that great, but it is magically hanging over the edge of the tile--welcome to another Week at the Bake

Brett is now rebuilding Bronco's, which means he has a lot of cool cars at his house.

James got a lot of mini's out before pizza was even ordered, so we knew it was going to be one of those nights.

Brett has his tier three dice out--in a basic reggae color.

DM James was in fine form--the story is really getting odd as we explore the kingdom of Ancient Giants in Eberron. The giants were obsessed with immortality and conducted all sorts of weird experiments--eternal children, who are very creepy, etc.

David is our resident rules master and he was ready to roll.

This weeks encounter was designed to nerf Cameron's Fiddenmar whose Fey Taco has become our groups signature move--locking enemies down so that we can pick them off one by one.

Andrew's Bemin continues to dominate in the Defender roll. This week I think he almost went down a few times while battling a raging Ur War Forged.

Brett's Vassa is still dropping over 100 points of damage per round.

I am using an Express bag for my dice--I found this outside of a Starbucks with Rowan a long long time ago.

The map was a long hall way encounter in which no one really moved around all that much.

My new Shardmind is a monk and critted early this week--I had not done much char op so it did not do all that much damage, but it was fun.

Actual Play Scourge of the Sword Coast--D&D Encounters S17 S4

Post Encounters Two Headed Giant

So the Star City Games Open is coming to LA. Jack wants to play his black standard deck, which has been running awesome for him lately.

Brian and I are planning to play some two headed giant:

Two-Headed Giant Sealed

Entry: $30/team
Registration: 2PM - 2:50PM

Current Sealed format Two-Headed Giant.
8 packs per team - two 40-card minimum decks.
 Four rounds of Swiss.

3-0-1: 6 Booster Packs per Team
3-1: 4 Booster Packs per Team
2 wins: 2 Booster Packs per Team

so we got in a test game after encounters this week.

Our first question was around deck construction--Jack argues that a team can only have four of any given card--in other words you cannot run Eight Swan Songs--only four total for the team. One player can have all four or you can split them, but you cannot have four in teammate one's library and four in teammate two's library. Red Mage at the shop disagreed & I am not sure where the Star City Games

Please note my ultra awesome Jace mat which will inspire fear in the competition.

Jack played with Scott.

Brian and I scooped the first game--I was mana screwed. The second game went better but still we lost.

Jack had a lot of removal & I just could not get anything going.

Please note the fantastic mat again.
