Tuesday Before Winter Break

Another great Tuesday morning of Magic!

Team Schwarm was exhausted after a long night at Disneyland--but were stoked that Preston, Andrew, Matt, & Derek came to enjoy donuts & sling some spells.

Jack was playing very well--he is started to bore of magic & we may need to hit a tournament some time soon.

Preston is playing very well--he has a ton of great cards!

My first game was a rematch against Andrew

We went three games & I won at the end.

My next match was a two headed giant match against Derek

And Matt

We started strong with a 12!

But we did not get to finish the match--Noobs [Andrew and I] were down on life, but he was about to start dropping giant green monsters!

Freeman Dyson, physicist (b. 1923)

I believe that life can go on forever. It takes a million years to evolve a new species, ten million for a new genus, one hundred million for a class, a billion for a phylum -- and that's usually as far as your imagination goes. In a billion years, it seems, intelligent life might be as different from humans as humans are from insects. But what would happen in another ten billion years? It's utterly impossible to conceive of ourselves changing as drastically as that, over and over again. All you can say is, on that kind of time scale the material form that life would take is completely open. To change from a human being to a cloud may seem a big order, but it's the kind of change you'd expect over billions of years.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a fantastic short read designed to get you to read Steelheart and it works--the writing is very crisp and imaginative. The writing is suburb. Definitely worth reading.
