I had not been able to run at Alakazam for a few weeks, so it was great to get back this week!

 

There were only three players in attendance this week & we had to move quickly since the Goldenfields fight had been kind of lagging. The party can dump a TON of damage each round and I have very little ability to hurt them.

I do love 5E Giants--I need to read the Volo's guide stuff on them as well as the stuff in the module around how to make them tougher.

the mini's are still looking very good on the map.

This week was also a CRIT BONANZA!

Another week of D&D at Alakazam Comics.

The party is still battling an invasion at Goldenfields.

The team mini's and over all table layout is working perfectly

and the players are learning how their characters run in combat

How many D&D Monsters Are There

On a recent D&D podcast Jeremy Crawford said we there were over 1,000. That number seemed a little high if we remove "unique" creatures--but I am really not sure...I think for 5E we are at about 500ish which would indicate 1,000 is definitely reasonable...

I thought it would be interesting to try to figure out what the exact count is.

Wiki has great lists, but they are hard to sort and get the dupes out, but that may be the best way.

I have also pinged some people who may have already answered this question.

Another fun week of D&D Encounters at Alakazam Comics. The closest Starbucks is super slow, so I will be ordering remotely going foreword--but the crew is loving the coffee. Snacks are another issue--this week Brian brought Vegan Jerky which was, as you can imagine, amazing.

I had plenty of room posting up with my back to the door.

Cody and Jon had a blast--Cody spent a lot of time with Pizza and playing with the camera!

Goblins, Bugbears, and Ogres attacked the Goldenfields.

The combat map was classic D&D

The ogre was a trebuchet who launched squealing goblins at the party!

The mini's we have assembled are amazing!

The goblins are lighting the town on fire with skittles, the bugbears are looting, the ogre is launching goblins. The green skittled residents of Goldenfields are running to save their lives.

We had a nice early crit!

and the pirate keeps the streak alive with this 19 Crit

Sad to hear about the loss of Anti-Catholic Nutter Jack Chick, whose artistic skill & racist insanity unfortunately captured the spirit of D&D perfectly in one of the greatest images of all time....

That hanging plant just add so much! Jack Chick will be missed.

Team Schwarm meet at Much:

and carpooled over with Melissa--we stopped at Starbucks for Cake Pops and coffee

Cody is having the time of his life! He created pretty much the perfect Monk mini for Jack!

The party headed into Goldenfields, after defeating the dwarves...

and was looking for a fight--but we spent most of the night engaged in RP.

The video is long, but there is some great stuff, including a good Jim Morrison joke.

I am still tracking initiative via index cards.

Jack hit the 7-11 and got some Taki's to share with a father son combo who had never played D&D before
