DM Prep--Storm King Thunder

So I am planning to run D&D Encounters at Alakazam Comics in Irvine.

I am using the Dungeon Bastard DM Prep videos as my foundation:

We are doing Character Creation tonight--it is a new shop & we are going to take our time getting started...So My first step was to follow Tom's advice and simplify my DM Kit.

Recently, I have been bringing a Jenga Set [for mapping] & a large bag

The Bag is totally crammed with stuff--dice, name tags, camera, books, DM notes, random swag

The stack of books is nuts

The DM notes has tokens for inspiration, post-it notes, reading notes, adventure notes, & 3x5 cards

There is also an extra pencil and hand sanitizer

There is also some just random crumpled notes

Basically, I have cut that way back to:

1.  dice & tokens
2. a smaller notebook that has some index cards in it
3. name tags for the first session
4. camera
5. skittles
6. the adventure.

Another great week at Kingslayer Comics with the Burning Brooms in the Amber Temple:

Cody played Talon and had a blast!

Things were very crowded at the table even though the other group has moved into the other room, I did not have much room to spread out, but as we move to the finale, I did not really need it.

PAX Movie

Last night Brian & I went to the District AMC theater and watched the D&D Acquisitions, Inc game live from PAX

Before the movie we enjoyed some Tatter Tots



One of the best parts was the interview with Mat the dude who put the mini's together--it was totally awesome.



there were not a lot of people in the theater, but we did get a fantastic free module.

The night started with Lisa making home made sushi

There were even these rather Goth roses on the table.

Cody created some fantastic Jenga castles

I used the Jenga pieces to create the map this week--mixed results from the players.

The table had a wonderful old school feel.

I was distracted & had to go work half way through--but it was a very fun night!
