A Caribou is a type of Elk? Dead in Thay--D&D Encounters S18 S9

New sandwhich shop by Comic Quest has very hot sauce.

And free Fire Hats!

I had the greateset parellel parking of my life. Give thanks and praise.

Brain returned this week & was in fine form!

DM Alan was on fire--his trip to the Grand Canyon really seems to have rejuvinated him!

Lisa was at our table--John was not but did enjoy yelling over her at us!

Jack was ready to roll--behind him is Bobby, Ramin, Dude whose name I forgot, maybe Trevor, and Robert--a very solid table!

Nathan is new at our table & may be the greatest roll player of all time--this guy is awesome! He was playing a dwaft paladin with a halbard. Hard Core!

John was still yelling at our table--I think this is on the topic of Halo.

The shop is still somewhat crowded with Magic Players.

DM Scott is also doing a fantastic job running this great Dungeon Crawl

Brian in full effect!

We actually made a lot of exploration progress this week.

Emily joined the table late--and brought a lot of joy to the table.

We were surrounded & I ran. No one followed. Messy.

Here is my portrait of Brian's Gnome Druid.

And a Crit

D&D Podcast: The Herald

There is a fantastic interview with Ed Greenwood available on the official Wizards of the Coast D&D Podcast site

Ed talks a lot about how he sees the Forgotten Realms, how he thinks we talk about the Forgotten Realms, he does some great character impersonations, and he talks around the foundations of fiction. He reviews old cartoons and genre literature in an effort to make his points, which may be his single most endearing quality.

I do not know who introduces the interview--it may be Bart.

I think this is the first James Wyatt hosted podcast--he does let Ed ramble on a little to much & avoids asking any really difficutl or thought provoking questions--this is more of a friendly conversation than a Fan Focused Inquery and/or a Literary Discussion.

Never the less, a great podcast to listen to--I love that the end by thanking Bart & Shelly!

I am currently reading the Heralds with The Sundering Reading Group on GoodReads & I am enjoying it very much.

Hero.Zone

DM Chris has put up a new blog called Hero.Zone which will integrate all of his Game Blogs into one domain--a very good idea!

Hero.Zone has these rotating quotes in the header image--one of which was:
Believe it or not it's just me

an obvious Greatest American Hero reference--to which I responded & Chris then challenged me with:
Good catch re: Greatest American Hero! Header quotation rotates through 12 or so … can you ID the rest? ;-)

so I have found the following quotes:

  1. I have got stars in my eyes
  2. Swimming like dolphins
  3. Everything I would like to be
  4. Up, Up and Away
  5. Iron fists in velvet gloves
  6. Just See what I have done
  7. Another Victim of Ordinary Fame
  8. Using Great Power Responsibly
  9. Strong, fast, fresh from the fight
  10. Anything but Ordinary

That look like this;

So Swimming like Dolphins is a reference to the Bowie song Heroes [get it-- Hero Zone quoting Heroes--CLEVER]. If you look at the HTML you can see:

<img src="http://heroes.zone/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/cropped-hz_blogo_bowie.jpg" height="100" width="475" alt="Heroes.Zone">

in which, Chris gives the game away & the puzzle is easily solved...

Good luck on the new blog--I really look forward to Nathan running Icon's--Jack and I bought the rules, but have never really played...
