Summer Tuesday Morning

Kids bikes leaning against the front of my house can only mean one thing--Tuesday Magic Crew!

Today we had almost everyone.

Jack

Alexander

Cassidy

Evan

 Preston

Liam, Matt, Dylan

Preston had a new tattoo!

Alexander got there late, but in time for donuts!

A fun morning--not a lot of conflict...Matt is still the man to beat, Jack was building a new deck & played some Pokemon with Preston. I lost to Alexander & beat Liam. Alexander lost to Matt. Not sure what other big games were played. Dylan is no longer playing slivers.

GM Intrusions: E31 - Navel Gazing in the Ninth World

This is a very fun interview of Lex, the host of the podcast, conducted by his significant other. They are very awesome & playful--they sound very happy together. The interview is lively and upbeat.

There is some good insight into what makes Lex tick, some clever comments into Numenera and the shape of the game. Lex has a really good understanding of what it is that makes Numenera revolutionary and awesome--from Character Creation to the particulars of the setting--Lex gets it & this interview sheds some light on just how much!

A great listen & good introduction on why running Numenera is a very good idea.

June CHOC Trip

Jack and I went in for his infusion & played some Magic while we were there. He had a fantastic Nurse--he said the needle would not have even woken him up this time!

I was able to beat Jack 2-1 this time--we both scooped on a round three Monster drop--he is playing G/R Monsters & I am playing Simic, so when things start to go south they go south quickly.

Jack is getting 50mg of Benedryl which knocks him out fairly quickly, but sleeping is a very good way to get through an infusion. It was also crowded, so we got our own private room--which is awesome!

One minute he is awake & the next he is asleep!

D&D Encounters: Dead in Thay (Week 4)

Another great update from the DungeonMaster.com crew.

This week they spend a lot of time reviewing recent D&D news--including some great & very clear explanation on the Adventures Guild. They really do a great job explaining a lot of the changes & explain it in a way that clarifies a lot of the question I had.

The game review is also very sold.

A good episode.

D&D Podcast 05/30/2014

The Official D&D Podcast does not come out nearly often enough!

I would be so stoked if they moved to a once a week schedule with rotating topics, something like:

  1. CrunchUpdates on what new products are coming up, interviews with module creators, etc.
  2. FluffInformation on the Novels coming out--also, stuff from Dragon Magazine & Dungeon Magazine could be covered during this week.
  3. CommunityUpdates from Facebook, Twitter, Convention reports, Public Play updates, etc. Interviews with people doing TV shows would fall on this week.
Shelly could be the host & separate hosts would have each section--Perkins on Crunch, Nina on fluss, and maybe someone like Sarah Darkmagic on Community news...it could end with a 60 seconds with Ed a la the 60 Minutes Andy Rooney section--it would be great.

In any event, this episode is AWESOME as always--Shelly sits down the 5E's Brain Trust Mike & Chris and gets updates on product releases and a lot more information on the upcoming adventure. There is an interview with the guys developing the Neverwinter video game Tyranny of Dragons tie in which is fantastic.

Always great to get these updates.
