Swan Song's Sudden Betrayal & Controlling the Remorhaz
Last night at Mercenary Market, before D&D Encounters, Jack, Scott, Brian and I played some Two Headed Giant.
Jack was playing his very powerful mono black deck.
Scott has Red Green Creature deck that is very good.
Brian was playing his broken deck which continues to suck.
It is kind of this Budget Esper deck that does have a lot of removal, but no real win condition.
Brian and I lost 2-0, but the worst part was that I was betrayed by Swan Song! I was able to counter a Boon Satyr flashed in at the end of turn, however I did not have anything to block the resultant bird when it swung.
TRAGEDY!
Curtis shows up to play some D&D Next.
He is pretty stoked to be running this season, I think.
Jack is playing Ratatoille the Gnome Theif & Brian has Bling the Human Bard.
They both spend a lot of the game shuffling magic cards & are not that into the story.
The party attacked the Cultist's Lair this week.
I actually remembered my dice.
Jack got 5 on Flappy Birds!
The other table also appears to be having a very good time.
Mercenary Market does have plenty of space.
I had a called 20 on a skill check at the end--but outside of that a fairly normal week of D&D Encounters. We did successfully control a baby remorhaz, which is a 1st edition monster I have no memory of ever fighting before:

Best Play Ever
At Dice House on Saturday, during the 12:00 Noon Prerelease, I saw the greatest play I have ever seen...
Francois plays Nessian Wilds Ravager:
Francois plays Nessian Wilds Ravager:
Johnny does not pay tribute.
In response to the 'enters the battlefield' trigger, Johnny casts Hold at Bay:
targeting Artisan of Forms [the only creature Johnny has on the battlefield]:
Francois' Nessian Wilds Ravager fights Johnny's Artisan of Forms' Nessian Wilds Ravager copy and dies.
Johnny does not take damage because he prevents the six points that Francois did.
Even after the cheers and the judge and the rest of it it was a pretty much perfect play.

Donuts, Trades, & DNA
Another fun morning of Magic with the Tuesday Crew.
Lisa bought donuts.
The kids are getting very good & the games were awesome.
Jelly filled is the doughnut of choice & they do get messy.
Jack was on fire & did not loose this morning.
Evan is playing well
Cassidy still needs some more deck tech--I do not think he has been to an event yet, so his card supply is not a good as the other kids.
Dylan, who I hope will be the rules lawyer, is playing well--but does not have a very good deck either. His DNA Sculpture was amazing, however.
Side view of Jack in action.
Derek has great red dragon sleeves.
I recently got the simic sleeves for my simic deck which is currently a mess--I am playing 80 cards.
I traded Andrew for two more Swan Songs!
I traded Matt for the CHROMANTICORE!
a great set of trades!

Great Hart
So far the best Born of the Gods card that I have received!
The great hart stood like a statue, its hide painted gold by the dawn. The Champion laid down her weapons and stepped forward within an arm's length of the beast. The hart, sacred to Heliod and bathed in the god's own light, bowed to the Champion, marking her as the Chosen of the Sun God.—The Theriad
Jack loves it so much he has framed a Foil Great Hart for his bed side table!
