Deathtouch is Damage, right? RIGHT?!?

Liam has Iroas out:

Who has:

Prevent all damage that would be dealt to attacking creatures you control.

and then he attacks with:

Which is just an awesome card!

Cassidy blocks the man cow with Deadly Recluse:

Does Fanatic of Mogis die?

I ruled that the God gives him protection from all damage so he does not take the one. And the Deathtouch only applies if damage is dealt & so the Fanatic lives to fight again...

Did I get it right?

Muffins, Magic, OH MY!

This week we had a small turn out--Jack, Cassidy, Liam, Preston, Matt & Andrew.

Jack got out his Black Deck and destroyed Preston.

Preston has the worlds coolest mat:

Emo Power is really starting to take off with the 13 year olds.

Cassidy is playing B/G Monsters.

Liam is doing well with his Red Deck.

Another fun morning.

Green Forged in Pursuit Journey Into Nyx

Red Forged in War Journey Into Nyx

Black Forged in Tyranny Journey Into Nyx

Blue Forged in Intellect Journey Into Nyx

White Forged in Glory Journey Into Nyx

Forge A Godslayer Journey Into Nyx

Journey into Nyx included this Game. The sealed box you chose had one of the score cards above. After your match you selected one of these fantastic stickers to put on the card--winner of the match got first pick.

based on the stickers you got you then got to enhance your special item card with an added ability.

I love that magic is including this game within a game in this set--really makes things fun.

Journey Into Nyx Prerelease at Dice House

The day began with a very agressive Skylanders vs. Halo battle on the kitchen table.

Halo won.

Then we headed to the Dice House. Brian drove Jack, Alex, Alexander, and

I drove Preston, Matt, Derek, Cassidy, and Liam.

We paid and got started.

Dice House is the best shop in Orange County and there was a lot of time spent shopping.

12:00 Saturday Pre Release was not that crowded.

Jack was celebrating his birthday--he had not prepared for the prerealease but he was ready to have fun.

Alex Sanz was at his second event ever.

And drew the God Pack--all the Gods in Theros. He did not even know what it was.

The boys did a great job building out there decks. Fast and efficient--I really think that they knew what they were doing.

The games were great.

Everyone had a fantastic time.

After we came home for Pizza and Cake. Then went to the pool for a few hours. It was a great Saturday.

Sanderson’s Three Laws of Magics

  1. An author’s ability to solve conflict with magic is DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL to how well the reader understands said magic.
  2. Limitations > Powers (i.e. “Superman is not his powers. Superman is his weaknesses.”)
  3. Expand what you already have before you add something new.

Another Pleasant Valley Tuesday

A very mellow morning of magic today.

Jack and Preston played Pokemon which was awesome.

Matt and I had a viscous Red/Green Monsters vs Simic battle. He took me out quick the first game, I got him on a grinder the second game. The third game he was way ahead but the Bident of Thassa

& Prophet of Kruphix

brought me back.

Derek beat Liam.

Cassidy lost to Dylan

Andrew & Alexander were late.

It was a fun morning, but not as eventful as many.

Scourge of the Sword Coast--D&D Encounters S17 S9

Things got off to a rough start this week when we got the following news:
Hello everyone, it saddens me to bring you this news, but unfortunately Mercenary Market is closing. We made a good run of it and made a wonderful community but were unable to keep the doors open. To that end, everything in the store will be at 30% off until the doors close. We will probably be open for another 2-3 more weeks, so come in and say hi one last time!

And before the body was even cold--people were giving us tips on other shops to go to!

DM Brian has still not read the module, so we spent most of this week exploring the fallen Dwarven kingdom overrun with Duergar.

Scott was on fire--he picked up the Pathfinder book for 30% off and bought some magic packs. His Monk Wizard is a force to be reckoned with at level four.

Richard was on fire this week with discussions of Crevasse's vs Crevice and some great nerd references--he even spent a lot of time taunting DM Brian on his bound of D6's

Jack had a lot of space and spent a lot of time gaming.

The other table once again had a great crew.

I am very much enjoying my dice.
and the space at Mercenary Market is amazing.

Our tables mini's look great & it is fantastic that Brian found his play mat.

I think Jack is the only person who got a crit  this week...

what may be our last crit at MM. A great OC Shop that will be missed.
